Roy Lee Miller

Roy Lee Miller (Bear) was born on December 28, 1937 in Lynchburg, VA to the late James and Theresa Miller.  He attended Lynchburg Public Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School.  He was employed for twenty-five years at Craddock Terry. 

Roy found Christ at an early age and became a member of White Rock Baptist Church at the age of nine.  He was a member of the Sunday School, where he taught the junior boys class for ten years.  He was also a member of the Junior Usher Board and Junior Choir.  In 1962 he was member of the senior choir.  He was elected President of the Senior Usher Board in 1965, and served as an usher until his health declined.  In 1981 be became a Sunday School Superintendent and served in this capacity for seventeen years.  He also served as the church sexton for seventeen years.  Roy was a faithful Sunday School and Bible Study attendant.  He enjoyed his church and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I never got to say good bye

I never got to give you a hug before an angel took your hand and gave you a hug/

I never got to give you a kiss before you made your final wish.

I never got to tell you, I love you before you disappeared into the sky so blue.

I never got to tell you goodbye before you got your wings and learned to fly.

All these things I wish I did whether by choice or fate... I was too late.
